Storm Tracing
When I began my research to make sound visible I had no idea Hurricane Sandy would surge up the coast or the devastation left in its wake. The immense power of the storm gave rise to a deeper understanding of the delicate balance between weather systems and the fragility of our environment—altering my perspective on what I perceived as solid ground.
This series of drawings began by drawing into the negative spaces of a sound drawing, contemplating the shifting coastlines, surging waves and the entangled complexities of the storm.
